Event Highlights

‍Showcase – The 27 exhibiting artists in the Showcase represent a remarkable range of backgrounds, mediums, and perspectives. From tranquil landscape paintings and personal portraits to striking photographs, ceramics, 3D-printed kinetic sculptures, and interactive installations, the Showcase captures many facets of creative exploration. Some pieces emphasize quiet reflection, while others invite active participation—together, they reflect the profound artistic current running through our halls and studios, where a love for the arts—and for the act of creating—truly thrives.

A grazing table and a reception with refreshments will be available throughout the Showcase, offering moments to connect with the artists and the stories behind their work.

Runway – Experience the artistry of MIT designers as their bold, innovative creations take center stage. This dynamic runway show features designs brought to life by student models and accompanied by live performances from the MIT dance groups and the Laptop Ensemble.

Afterparty – Meet the designers behind the looks and the models who bring them to life. Hear the stories behind the designs, ask questions about the creative process and styling, and get to know the MIT Gala’s student leaders shaping this year’s runway. Casual, candid, and fun—come for the art, stay for the conversations.

Special Features

Enjoy lighting designs by E33, performances by the MIT jazz musicians.
